Qcity radio personality Ramona Holloway will be the guest speaker at a women’s networking luncheon sponsored by Morton’s steakhouse.
Holloway, one half of the nationally syndicated “Matt & Ramona Show,” will discuss women in the workforce, the qualities women must possess to be successful and tips for tapping into one’s individual calling.
The March 24 luncheon will kick off a series of networking lunches geared toward supporting and celebrating women, said Krista Manns, sales and marketing manager at the uptown steakhouse.

Matt Harris and Ramona Holloway, co-hosts of the nationally syndicated Matt & Ramona Show, recently won a Gracie Allan Award for Outstanding Comedy.
The annual award is given by the Alliance for Women in Media (formerly American Women in Radio & Television).
Holloway accepted the award at the 35th Annual Gracie Awards Gala held on Tuesday, May 25, in Beverly Hills. Harris also attended.
The award marked the second straight year the duo has been honored for outstanding comedy. Their show is broadcast from WLNK (107.9 the LINK) in Charlotte.
Their winning entry, “Ramona Meets Jimmy Carter,” centered on Holloway’s less-than-memorable encounter with her idol, the former President.

As the 2014 CIAA basketball tournament draws near, much will be said and written about the parties and social events that each year accompany the five days of festivities. But this year, one after-party will be different, at least in its purpose.
On Friday, Feb. 28, BLT Steak in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel will host a “Party With a Purpose” to benefit A Child’s Place, a local charity that works to erase the impact on homelessness on Charlotte-area children and their education.

Ramona Holloway was never high school skinny. In fourth grade, she said, she weighed about as much as some adults.
“I was a chubby kid who turned into a chubby adult,” recalled Holloway, co-host of the Matt & Ramona radio show, which is broadcast from the west Charlotte studios of 107.9 FM, “The Link.”
After a lifetime of dieting, in mid-January, Holloway bucked the strong advice of some of her family members and underwent gastric bypass surgery. But if you think the procedure was all about vanity, she said, you’d be wrong.
